Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus that had not been previously identified in humans.

The virus causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever and in more severe cases, pneumonia. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently and avoiding touching your face.

How it hits hand on cyber?

The hackers in the cyber world use the most trending topic of the internet as their target source. As the virus spread across globe, is the most trending topic of all social media, which made the attackers intrusive.

As per the report by CheckPoint, there have been over 4,000 coronavirus-related domains registered globally. Out of these websites, 3% were found to be malicious and an additional 5% are suspicious.

Security researchers reported that Emotet was the leading malware threat for the past fourth month, and was being spread during the month using a Coronavirus-themed spam campaign.

The emails appear to be reporting where Coronavirus is spreading, or offering more information about the virus, encouraging the victim to open the attachments or click the links which, if opened, attempt to download Emotet on their computer. Emotet is primarily used as a distributor of ransomware or other malicious campaigns.
